At Freedom Home Care, we love giving back to the community by either hosting or sponsoring events. While this blog covers events from the second half of 2021, we have been involved with internal and community events for years. This year has been busy, so we wanted to put a spotlight on what our amazing staff have helped to make possible. Here is a recap of some of our favorites from the last few months:
Nurse Appreciation Giveaways
To show appreciation to all nurses we had a giveaway in which multiple nurses won cash prizes!
Community Pfizer Vaccine Clinic
In July, Freedom Home Care hosted a clinic to provide Pfizer COVID vaccinations to any eligible individual who wanted one. No one was turned away, walk-ins were welcome!
Ice Cream Social
It’s hard to beat the joy that can come from free ice cream! We had an ice cream truck for an hour to provide free ice cream to our members.
COVID-19 Testing
In partner with Maranatha, we sponsored two COVID testing dates for our community. The first date alone saw over 100 tests administered!
Walk To End Alzheimer’s
Alzheimer’s is an awful disease that affects many people in the United States and around the globe. Freedom Home Care contributes to the fight against Alzheimer’s by donating for research purposes, sponsoring events such as Walk to End Alzheimer’s, and spreading awareness where we can. Thank you to other sponsors and everyone else involved!
The Recycled Art Show
Taking part in the Recycled Art Show was a real treat! We saw a lot of smiling faces and beautiful works of art.
Staff Training Sessions
Our Jamie offered a staff training at the Freedom Home Care Highland Park Office. We also had Jennifer Riley from Kindred Hospice as a guest speaker to talk about hospice and Palliative care in the home. The training was on: Use of Hoyer lift, Ambulation Training, How to recognize pressure wounds and how to care for them, Signs of issues related to clients with diabetes, Caring for clients with urinary catheter, Caring for clients with dementia, Bed bound / Turning clients properly.
Freedom Home Care Job Fair
Since we are always looking for compassionate nurses, LPNs, CNAs, caregivers and companions, we decided to hold our very own Job Fair! We got to meet lots of potential Freedom Home Care staffers.
Multiple Vaccination Clinics
Freedom Home Care had already hosted clinics for the COVID vaccine, but we had the opportunity to do even more clinics. We were able to offer to our community the Pfizer booster, the Moderna booster, the Flu Vaccine, and the Pneumonia vaccine.
These are just a few of the events we have already been a part of. Keep an eye out for future events!
