According to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services website, individuals have the opportunity to change their health plans and prescription drug coverage between Oct. 15 and Dec. 7.
Therefore, the time is now to make assessments and then make the necessary adjustments, if need be. Information on 2013 plans are now available online to help with the decision-making process. People with Medicare can also call 1-800-MEDICARE if they feel more comfortable speaking with someone about their options or about plan details.
If a person is satisfied that their current plan will meet their needs for next year, however, the editors at the CMS.gov website say that they don’t need to do anything.
